Admission Information
Fall Semester 2011

I. Introduction
The College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science was established in fall 2007, based on the crucial demand of national development plan “Two Trillions and Twin Stars". In association with the High-Tech industries in the five northern science parks (Hsin-Tien, Chung-Ho, Tu-Cheng, Tao-Yuan, and Hsin-Chu), skillful and professional engineers/researchers are nurtured to meet the demands by the industry in this college. The college includes three departments: The Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, the Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering, and the Graduate Institute of Electrical Engineering.

As part of the National Taipei University located in the capital of Taiwan, we aim to become the nationally distinguished college in our specific field of expertise, such as Information Theory, IC Design, Multimedia, Networks, and Pervasive Computing. Our faculty will be recognized as the innovators in their research field. Our alumni working in the science and technology industry will set the standard of excellence. Our students will learn to excel in the professional skills and knowledge, to decipher significant problems, and to develop a passion for improving the world.

II. Program Duration: Two years of English-speaking program.

III. Enrollment Capacity: 15 students in total.

IV. Qualifications:
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
1.International student admission is only for applicants who do not have overseas Chinese status, or Hong Kong and Macau citizenship, and who do not hold a Republic of China (R.O.C.) passport.
2.If applicants formerly held the R.O.C. nationality, they should have officially given up the R.O.C. nationality for at least eight years, up until the beginning date of the first term in which they seek admission on National Taipei University.
3.Applicants must hold a bachelor*s degree or its equivalent in a related field from a university or independent college.

V. Financial Aid:
The program costs and fees are fully subsidized by the Teaching and Learning Excellence Project from Ministry of Education of Taiwan.
1.A Scholarship of NT$ 150,000 (approximately US$ 5,000) will be provided each year for two years for the admitted applicants.
[Estimated annual tuition and fee is NT$ 52,503 (approximately US$ 1,750) and the annual dormitory fee is NT$ 16,000 (approximately US$ 533)].
2.Students are responsible for the remaining expenses, including utility bill, Internet, transportation, books, living expenses, etc.
3.There are also possible work opportunities on campus for students.
4.Other scholarship may be awarded based on the student’s academic performance after enrollment.

2.One Copy of Bachelor’s Degree Diploma (in English version).
3.One Copy of Official Transcript (in English version).
4.Study Plan.
5.Two Recommendation Letters.
6.Additional Supporting Documents (CV, Publications, Honors, Thesis, etc.).
